The Andalusian Parliament has approved today, by majority and with the abstention of Por Andalucía, the proposal of the Andalusian PP to create a working group that curbs children's access to pornographic content. The initiative aims to assess the dimension of the problem, as well as its consequences and impact, and will try to provide effective solutions and measures for the greater protection of Andalusian minors.

"We welcome the fact that it is a concern shared by the rest of the groups, regardless of political differences, and by the public administrations, since it is a matter of determining if this perpetuation of macho roles and stereotypes, of sexist violence in short, is the future." that we want for the next generations", pointed out the PP spokesman, Toni Martín, who stressed that "Andalusia wants to lead the way with the results of this shared analysis within the regional Parliament, the home of all Andalusians".

Martín recalled that, according to various studies, "pornography has become the tutorial with which today's adolescents are trained in sexual matters." Thus, he recalled that, according to a report by Save The Children, 62,5% of boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 17 have seen porn on some occasion, 17,4% involuntarily while browsing the internet and without having searched for it, and seven out of seven out of 10 minors consume free sexual content online almost daily.

The parliamentary spokesman has echoed the alerts launched by institutions such as the Prosecutor's Office about the consequences that the habitual consumption of this content has on young people, such as the increase in crimes against sexual freedom among minors,

And he explained that the proposal of a working group responds, on the one hand, to the social demand of Andalusians, which according to the Audiovisual Barometer of Andalusia calls for the implementation of regulation and control mechanisms in Internet access for minors. But also the Childhood and Adolescence Law, which qualifies unsolicited access to pornography as a type of violence and urges administrations to promote measures that allow safe Internet browsing and responsible use of technologies, but also to promote co-regulation codes among the industry for that safe and responsible use.

However, Martín has criticized the electoralist tone of the PSOE, which ten days before the elections, instead of bringing proposals on issues that concern Andalusians, "has chosen to bring to plenary session a confrontational initiative on" this demagogic attempt to cut matter of equality that they are using in the campaign and that it is false ”. "An electoralism that we also saw on the day the municipal campaign began, when they approved a works plan to combat the drought, or two days ago, when in the middle of the campaign they approved a special employment plan."

Likewise, the parliamentary spokesman for the PP has rejected the fact that no work has been done during this time on training and equality matters. Martín recalled that the Ministry of Educational Development is already working for the next course on a decree to "complete" the training in equality and affective-sexual education in all school stages, which will come into force next year.

He has also used the increase in investment in the Andalusian Women's Institute, "or that the budget for the telephone service for women is 10 times greater than when the PSOE left the government, "it is the number that women go to when they are victims of sexist violence, which is called that”. On the contrary, she recalled that the government agreement between PSOE and Podemos expressly included measures to curb children's access to pornography. "But they have not done anything, they have let time pass, while in Andalusia, with our limited powers, we have taken a step forward to try to negotiate."

At this point, Martín has highlighted that any solution in this matter "goes through training in a family and educational environment, but we also need tools that help prevent such simple access by minors, where the only firewall is a question that says if you are over 18 years old.
