- During the presentation of the PNL of the popular group for fair financing for Andalusia, the secretary general of the Andalusian PP recalled that "when the PSOE governed, the PP, from the opposition, demonstrated loyalty to the Andalusians, showed their support and fought to end the underfunding of Andalusia."
“Either Andalusia or a shameful silence,” was the diatribe to which the secretary general of the PP of Andalusia, Antonio Repullo, called this afternoon to the PSOE-A in the Andalusian Parliament, seeking the consensus of all the political forces that represent the will of the Andalusians in the autonomous chamber in defense of “the fair claim of this land, so as not to be harmed once again, not by territorial grievances, not by the claims of other autonomous Parliaments, but by the vulgar need of a man to remain in power.”
During the presentation of the PNL of the popular group for fair financing for Andalusia, Repullo stated that “in cases where solidarity, equity, social justice, terms that go beyond equality, are put at risk, one cannot make a “virtue out of necessity”. “There is nothing virtuous in breaking up the autonomous system for personal and partisan interests”, he said, before asking their lordships: “Who cannot agree that all the autonomous communities have to engage in dialogue to reach an agreement on their financing?”
“Who here is against the general interest of all Spaniards and refuses to allow some citizens to have more opportunities than others?” he continued. “Who does not agree that the regional financing system must be updated from a multilateral perspective, respecting current legislation and through an organic law? Who believes that the fragmentation of the Tax Agency, the unilateral transfer of revenue management or discretionary privileges in financial agreements are fair?”
And he continued to appeal to the parliamentary groups: “Who here believes that solidarity is a dispensable value? Who can agree that a government should allocate resources from everyone, including Andalusians, to satisfy the demands of the separatists? Who among those listening to me today in this Parliament would not demand that the government respect the fiscal and legislative autonomy of the communities? What other alternative would we have? The dismantling of the State?”
“What do you want, ladies and gentlemen? Respect for the Constitution, our laws and Andalusia? Or the nothingness that Sanchismo represents?” he concluded by asking, warning: “What you vote for today will make you proud, or ashamed, tomorrow.”
Antonio Repullo reminded the opposition that “the Andalusians have brought you here, they have given you these seats, so that you can defend your rights. So that you can guarantee your public services. So that you can get for this land what this land deserves.” “The Popular Party is clear about its vote because it is clear about what Andalusia it wants. The Andalusia of opportunities, of competitiveness, of respect and of solidarity,” he said.
“Not supporting these measures is not supporting the Andalusian people. Not supporting this proposal is laughing at the independence movement,” he said, insisting that “Andalusia demands courage and certainty from us. Andalusia stands up against plunder and contempt. It is in your hands, ladies and gentlemen. Either Andalusia or a shameful silence.”
Repullo has clarified that “the PSOE pact with Esquerra Republicana was not in Pedro Sánchez’s electoral programme. It has been a deception for all Spaniards.” “It was denied by the minister María Jesús Montero, it breaks the solidarity between the autonomous communities and leads our country to misgovernment, fiscal imbalance and anything goes,” he said, concluding that “if ERC thinks it is a good agreement, it is because it is going to harm Andalusia.”
In this regard, the secretary general of the Andalusian Popular Party and deputy for Córdoba also wanted to remember that “when the PSOE governed in Andalusia, when María Jesús Montero was still the Minister of Finance in the Junta, the PP, from the opposition, showed its support and fought to end Andalusian underfunding.” “The Andalusian Popular Party demonstrated loyalty to the Andalusians, institutional collaboration and exercised a responsible opposition, giving a lesson in moral legitimacy.”
For this reason, she warned the secretary general of the Andalusian socialists that "there is no third way, Mr. Espadas. What we are not going to do in Andalusia is raise taxes so that the Andalusians pay for the negative effects of Sánchez's pro-independence agreement and the underfunding with which he is suffocating us."
“What we are discussing here today is a question of dignity and respect for the land you represent, which is Andalusia,” he reiterated. “This is a question of courage and coherence,” he stressed, and then asked: “Rebel. Do not give in to Sanchism, which has brought nothing good to Andalusia. Respect this land and respect yourselves, your career and what you defended just a few months ago. Say what you think.”
“Doesn’t such docility bother you? Are you the public representatives you wanted to be?” he once again questioned the socialist bench, asking them to “vote according to their conscience”. “This proposal is a call for sanity, institutional loyalty and solidarity between autonomous regions”, he explained, stressing that “this proposal is the voice of the Andalusians put on paper. Don’t turn your back on them”.
“Vote yes to this proposal, and show your support for Andalusia. Vote no to this proposal, and continue applauding the grievances, the setbacks, the injustice, the Spain of privileges.”
For Repullo, the PSOE-A had in today's vote "an opportunity to recover the dignity it lost and its credibility." "Vote yes, and return to the path of reason and the future. Vote no and you will continue to applaud the old days," he urged the socialist bench, stressing: "vote yes to this proposal and show the Andalusians that they come first. Vote no to this proposal and you will be sending a message to the citizens: your acronym is more important than Andalusia." "It is in your hands and in your conscience," he said. Finally, the vote was resolved with the vote against of the socialist group.
