• The secretary general of the Andalusian Popular Party defends the boost that Granada is experiencing thanks to the collaboration between the City Council, the Provincial Council and the Andalusian Government: "the PSOE Government needs to get to work and stop thinking only about Sánchez's political survival"
  • He stresses that in the face of the chaos of a Government already in disarray and a PSOE that has become a parody of itself, "the Andalusians have the government they deserve," the one presided over by Juanma Moreno, based on rigor, seriousness and maturity."
  • “For Sánchez, governing is a game of thumbtacks: everything to the red ones, not even water to the blue ones”

The secretary general of the PP of Andalusia, Antonio Repullo, has defended this Thursday the importance of institutional collaboration to advance the transformation of Andalusia. Thus, he has highlighted that “with Marifrán in the Mayor's Office, Francis Rodríguez in the Provincial Council and Juanma in the Regional Government, Granada cannot be in better hands”.

“Hands that have managed to get Minister Oscar Puente out of his Andalusian lethargy,” he said, adding that “it has been the determination of the Mayor and the Minister of Public Works, Rocío Díaz, also from Granada, that has forced the Minister of Transport to take an interest in this land.” So much so that tomorrow at the City Hall to analyse the integration of the railway in the city and the proposals of the Mayor to the Ministry, such as carrying out improvements in the station to expand services; the execution at the same time of the bypass of Moreda to guarantee that no goods enter; the greater sinking of the tracks in the residential area so that they do not block the views and the urban use of land to build houses.

Antonio Repullo has stressed that “Juanma Moreno, together with Marifrán, have shown that loyal collaboration between administrations, between the Regional Government and the City Council, gives important results.” “It is a way of working that Óscar Puente should understand and which he should join. That of loyalty between institutions, that of rigor when addressing the claims of citizens. That of facing the future with projects, with common work and with expectations,” he claimed.

However, he warns that “the socialists do not know how to distinguish the institutional, their positions in Congress or in the Government, with their organic activities, from the party. Moncloa and Ferraz are one and the same, they have the same interest: the political survival of Pedro Sánchez and his praetorian guard.”

Despite this, the secretary general of the Andalusian Popular Party has expressed that "tomorrow we hope to find an Óscar Puente who is interested in the projects presented and far from the noise. Tomorrow, the minister has the opportunity to follow the example of the Andalusian path and leave aside his position in the PSOE to put on the suit of minister of all Spaniards, and of all Andalusians, and to engage in the investments that this land needs."

Repullo pointed out that “the deficit in railway and road infrastructure is even more worrying. While Catalonia has received 6.300 billion euros to improve its commuter rail network, Andalusia still lacks an efficient train system, especially in Granada with regard to high-speed and regional connections.” According to him, “the AVE line that connects the city with Madrid and other capitals has a route that, compared to other regions, does not meet the expectations of citizens.”

As for roads, important projects such as the improvement of the A-7 or the connection between Granada and the Costa Tropical and the Mediterranean corridor have suffered many delays and a total lack of investment. “These infrastructures are key to economic development, but they are forgotten in the face of massive investments in Catalonia,” he stressed.

In this scenario, the secretary general of the PP of Andalusia has regretted that “we see ERC, day after day, defending privileged funding for Catalonia and Pedro Sánchez, establishing a two-speed model in our autonomous system”. In his opinion, their strategy is “to block our autonomous policies. To scare our citizens. To invent an Andalusia that does not exist in order to gain electoral advantage”.

Just yesterday in Seville, what the Ministry had already announced in an internal communication was confirmed: “the height of impudence: that it was going to dry up the cities governed by the PP and reward those of its political persuasion.” “They robbed the people of Seville of four million euros in social housing,” he denounced, going on to say that “the minister has decided to leave hundreds of Andalusian families who need social housing destitute and on the streets. For them, it is a game of coloured drawing pins. To the red ones, yes. To the blue ones, not even water,” he described.

Repullo recalled that “Juanma Moreno conveyed all these demands from Granada directly to the President of the Government. But Sánchez looked the other way.” In his opinion, “Sánchez has grown tired of trying to govern. That is why his agenda is focused on international tours, on a flight forward to avoid giving explanations for the poor management of his Council of Ministers” and the corruption cases that threaten him.

“This week we have seen a new failure of the entire State machinery, from the Public Prosecutor's Office to the Government spokesperson in Moncloa, placed at the service of the defence of the President's wife,” he stressed, pointing out at the same time “corruption in business, influence peddling, criminal organisation, money laundering, bribery, crimes against the Public Treasury”.

“These alleged crimes remind us of the most rancid socialism in Andalusia, that PSOE marked by cronyism, waste and corruption,” he stressed, concluding that “in the face of national chaos, in the face of a Sanchez government that is already in disarray, in the face of a parody party like the PSOE, Andalusia has the Popular Party. The seriousness, maturity, listening and rigor that the Andalusians demand and deserve.”

Rodríguez points out the “silent attitude” of the Granada PSOE in the face of Sánchez's punishment

For his part, the provincial president of the PP in Granada, Francis Rodríguez, has regretted that Granada continues to be “the forgotten one” by a Government that has not been, is not and is not expected to be. “We are tired of insults and contempt,” he said, adding the lack of response from the Executive to the demands of the Granadan society to carry out basic projects for the advancement of the province. Among them, the reactivation of the Guadix Baza Lorca line or a firm commitment with a budget for the motorway connection between Granada, Córdoba and Extremadura (A 81) to become a reality.

For this reason, he reiterated that “we want and demand answers to the projects that have been kept in the drawer for years. We urgently need the complete execution of the Rules pipelines, the acceleration of the studies and the works on the breakwaters so that the residents, businessmen and visitors of our Costa Tropical do not have to continue paying for the effects of each storm; improve the connections of the ring road; make a decisive commitment to the Granada-Motril Train that provides a rail connection to the only Port of General Interest in the State without a train; or promote the Mediterranean Corridor”.

Finally, he has invited the PSOE of Granada to abandon the silent and passive attitude that they are maintaining in the province towards the Sánchez Government despite the evidence of the high cost that the people of Granada are paying.
