The most recent statistics from the Andalucía Tourism Analysis and Statistics System (ARROW) confirmed a marked rebound in tourism in Andalusia .

The region has almost completely recovered its pre-pandemic tourism levels, showing remarkable resilience in this key sector for its economy.

Andalusia received 30,8 million tourists, a substantial increase of 54% compared to 2021, and close to 95% of the level reached in 2019, just before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This almost complete return to visitor traffic prior to the pandemic demonstrates the success of the Government of Juanma Moreno in recovery strategies and tourism marketing.

The statistics also reveal an impressive increase in revenue generated from tourism in 2022. Andalusia earned almost 17.000 million euros thanks to tourism, a strong rebound largely attributed to a doubling in the number of foreign tourists.

This increase in tourist activity had a significant impact on the labor economy of Andalusia. In 2022, tourism created 408.300 jobs, an increase of 15% compared to 2021. Although this is still 3,8% below pre-pandemic levels, the upward trend promises a full recovery in the short term.

In addition, tourism injected more than 22.500 million euros into the Andalusian economy during 2022. For every euro spent in the tourism sector, 1,48 euros were generated, demonstrating the significant multiplying effect that the tourism industry has on the regional economy.

Overall, these positive figures highlight Andalusia's strength and resilience in the face of adversity and the region's ability to recover from the COVID-19 crisis. As restrictions continue to be lifted and international travel normalizes, Andalusia is expected to maintain its recovery trajectory and continue to capitalize on its tourism appeal to further boost its economy.
