Ana Callado: «Behind every woman there is a story that turns her into a warrior»

  • Ana Callado Malia, a canner from the town of Barbate in Cádiz, on the occasion of 8M, has received the 'They change Andalusia' award given by the Andalusian Popular Party.

 

Awards 'They change Andalusia'have recognized Ana Callado's fight. A lifetime dedicated to the canning industry in Cádiz that has earned him this recognition on the occasion of the 8M, International Women's Day. Awards that want to highlight that real and effective equality between women and men is a “state cause” in which “We must all work in the same direction”, said President Juanma Moreno at the awards ceremony. 

Ana began her career at the age of 17 in the Oldest canning factory in BarbateKnown as King of Pentacles, where he remained until its closure at the age of 55. The closure of the factory represented a significant challenge for Ana and her colleagues, since work not only constituted her livelihood, but also allowed them to provide a good quality of life for their three children, two of whom reside in Barbate and a daughter in Madrid.

Ana is a magnificent example of that. fighting and hard-working character that the people of Barbate have. For her, it is her paradise, although she recognizes that she is going through difficult times. In this sense, she believes that it is everyone's responsibility to give a push to overcome this adverse situation.
