The Government of Juanma Moreno has launched a Excellence program for the 2023/2024 academic year that will allow students to combine Secondary Education (ESO) with Professional Music and Dance Education during school hours. The deadline to apply for admission to this program is until April 30.

The program offers a total of 570 places in various Andalusian centers for students who wish to take advantage of the opportunity to study both subjects at the same time. 

The goal of the program is to promote artistic talent and prevent students from dropping out of professional arts education due to the effort required to study both backgrounds simultaneously.

Centers where Secondary Education can be combined with Music and Dance

  • Kina Jiménez Professional Dance Conservatory together with the Julián Arcas Royal Conservatory of Music and the Alborán Secondary School, in Almería.
  • Maribel Gallardo Professional Dance Conservatory together with the Manuel de Falla Royal Professional Conservatory of Music and the San Severiano Secondary School, in Cádiz.
  • Musician Ziryab Professional Conservatory of Music and the López Neyra Secondary School, in Córdoba.
  • Ángel Barrios Professional Conservatory of Music and the Pedro Soto de Rojas Secondary School, in Granada.
  • Javier Perianes Professional Conservatory of Music and the Pablo Neruda Secondary School, in Huelva.
  • Ramón Garay Professional Conservatory of Music and the Fuente de la Peña Secondary School, in Jaén.
  • Manuel Carra Professional Conservatory of Music and the Sierra Bermeja Secondary School, in Malaga.
  • Francisco Guerrero Professional Conservatory of Music and the Ciudad Jardín Secondary School, in Seville.

Deadline and requirements to apply for the program

The deadline to apply for admission to this program is April 30. To access one of these places, students must meet the requirements access requirements for both types of education. For professional Music or Dance education, students must pass an entrance exam, while for Secondary Education they must be promoted from the 6th grade of Primary Education.

The centers that participate in this program, in addition to presenting the corresponding joint project, must meet general requirements such as being publicly owned, obtaining the approval of the aforementioned project by the faculty and the school council of both centers, having experienced teachers in teamwork and in educational innovation projects and gather the infrastructures with adequate characteristics, since the centers must have common facilities or a proximity that allows the mobility of the teaching staff without wasting time.
