The sworn hunting guard, the new measure of the Board to support the hunting sector

The deputy secretary for the Environment, Sustainability and Blue Economy of the PP of Andalusia, Yolanda Sáez, highlights the commitment of the Junta to the professionalization of the hunting sector, young talent and generational change with the figure of the sworn hunting guard. She explains that the creation of this new surveillance figure, which can be accessed by any rural guard with a hunting specialty, has been the result of continuous dialogue and analysis with the sector.

The deputy secretary of the Environment, Sustainability and Blue Economy of the Popular Party of Andalusia, Yolanda Saez, has highly valued the support of the Government of Juanma Moreno to hunting activity in Andalusia with the creation of the figure of the sworn hunting guard, a figure that will allow strengthening surveillance work in rural areas and professionalizing the sector, in addition to promoting the generational change.

Sáez, along with Ramon Fernandez Pacheco, and Araceli Cabello, has maintained a meeting with representatives of rural guards with hunting qualifications to analyze the measures introduced by the Board in the latest Administrative Simplification Decree that allow a substantial improvement in hunting and fishing activities in Andalusia.

Hunting sworn guard, a necessary measure

Specifically, Sáez has highlighted that the decree includes the implementation of the sworn hunting guard, to whom Any citizen who is qualified as a rural guard with a hunting specialty will be able to access after receiving accreditation from the Ministry competent in the matter.. This is a figure highly demanded by the crural guards collective and whose characteristics are the result of analysis and continuous dialogue with the sector, which has thanked “the deep knowledge of the needs of the different actors involved and the search for consensus on the part of the Government of Juanma Moreno and the PP of Andalusia”, has explained.

Furthermore, the popular deputy secretary has stressed that this new figure will not mean the disappearance of the current game guards, who will coexist with the new sworn hunting guards. Thus, she explained that the legal modification being processed by the Ministry of Sustainability includes the temporary extension of the authorization of the preserve guards, so that upon the entry into force of Decree Law 3/2024 they will have that authorization that they will maintain until The retirement.

Commitment to the rural world

One more example, he pointed out, of the commitment and determination of the Government of Juanma Moreno with the rural world. “The Andalusian Government complies and will continue to comply his commitments to hunting in Andalusia, and will always be open to dialogue and consensus with the hunting sector, as we have done until now, since this sector is a great economic engine and dynamizer in rural areas which employs more than 45.000 people in the community.”

For Sáez, the creation of the sworn hunting guard represents “a commitment to the professionalization of the hunting sector and to the young talent”. And he has stressed that, of the commitments acquired by the PP of Andalusia in 2022 with the signing of a collaboration protocol between the Junta de Andalucía and the Andalusian Hunting Federation (FAC) “we have fulfilled more than half, one of them being “the approval last September of the Andalusian Hunting Plan 2023-2033.” In this sense, he has detailed that the processing of the rest of the commitments, which involve other ministries and departments, are already very advanced.
