• "The temporary VAT reduction is an insufficient measure because there is a legislative failure: PSOE and Podemos have legislated a lot and have only managed to make the electricity bill more expensive"

• Defends that the electrical system adjusts to "market criteria" and not to "political and interventionist" criteria that come to award energy production "to the most expensive"

The deputy spokesman for the Popular Group in the Andalusian Parliament, Pablo Venzal, this afternoon defended a non-legal proposal to ask the Government of Spain for measures against the rise in electricity costs, an initiative that has been supported by the plenary session of the autonomous Chamber.

Venzal has warned of the "brutal repercussion" of the almost 45% increase in electricity for citizens and companies, and has clarified that the measure discussed in the Council of Ministers to reduce VAT to 10% for a quarter, "when in countries around us it is 5%", it is "an insufficient measure" and it does not reach everyone, since it leaves out, for example, industry, which represents 75% of electricity consumption in the country, and which it is the one that “generates employment, provides stability and allows sustaining a welfare state”.

Thus, the popular parliamentarian has criticized "the legislative failure" marked by the government of PSOE and Podemos, of which he has assured that "they have legislated a lot and the only thing they have achieved is to make the electricity bill more expensive."

In this sense, Venzal has indicated that almost 70% of the final price paid by consumers correspond to taxes, charges and tolls, so that consumption represents only 30% of it, hence the need to "review the model of pricing”. The latter would imply, as he has defended, changes in the award to producers so that it does not end up being awarded because it is offered "more expensive".

Along with this, the parliamentarian has also opted to provide more information to the public about electricity consumption and the electricity bill. "If we knew what the maximum power for a month of our specific consumption was, we could adapt our contract to the real energy we need", he has given as an example.
