Fátima Pérez: "We will continue working so that women can participate in decision-making"

  • Fátima Pérez, professor of Criminal Law at the University of Almería, on the occasion of 8M, has received the 'They change Andalusia' award given by the Andalusian Popular Party.

 

Fatima Pérez Ferrer, Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Almería, On the occasion of 8M, International Women's Day, she was awarded the 'They change Andalusia', delivered by President Juanma Moreno to recognize his teaching and research work at the university. 

In her speech, Fátima stressed that "teachers have a great opportunity at the university to train and raise awareness among our young women and adolescents," emphasizing that "every year we have a greater number of women enrolled in our degrees and a high performance rate." Also, the Government of Juanma Moreno promotes policies that ensure that equality is a full and effective reality. An example of this is the III Gender Equality Plan in Education 2024-2028 launched by the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training

It is also vice dean of International Relations at the Faculty of Law. An outstanding academic with extensive research experience. She is the author of numerous publications in areas such as gender violence, the protection of victims, the Law of Minors and cybercrime.

Currently, in addition to coordinating the Law Degree and exchange programs, leads a research project on the promotion of gender equality and protection against gender violence in collaboration with the Almería City Council. Fátima has the José Luis Pérez Serrabona and the Extraordinary Doctorate awards.
