The Andalusian Government continues to promote the Dual FP as a key tool for the professional development of young people. In this context, the Almería Health District has received for the first time students of Dual FP in the specialty of Superior Technician in Sanitary Documentation and Administration, thus reinforcing Andalusia's commitment to practical training adapted to the needs of the labour market.
The Albaida Secondary Education Institute (IES) is responsible for monitoring these students, who will carry out their training at the Vega de Acá and Almería Centro Health Centres. During the welcome ceremony, the delegates for Health and Consumption, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, and for Educational Development, Vocational Training and University, Francisco Alonso, accompanied the management teams, tutors and teachers on this important day.
Juan de la Cruz Belmonte highlighted the relevance of these practices, pointing out that “they allow students to apply and consolidate the knowledge acquired during their theoretical training, as well as providing them with direct experience of the functioning of a health centre”. The delegate underlined the commitment of the Almería Health District to promote this type of training opportunities, which are essential for the development of new generations of health professionals.
For his part, Francisco Alonso highlighted the growth of Dual Vocational Training in the province of Almería, where a total of 2.401 students are enrolled in the Health professional family during the 2024-2025 academic year. “This health branch is one of the most sought after by students, and seven educational centres in the province are offering training opportunities in this field”, Alonso said.
Practical training for professional development
El Albaida Secondary School, with its extensive experience and track record, is a benchmark in the Dual Vocational Training educational offer. Currently, the centre offers eight Vocational Training Cycles and a Specialisation Course, providing quality training adapted to the demands of the sector.
During their training in health centers, students of the Higher Education Cycle in Health Documentation and Administration They will have the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and apply skills in a real environment. The activities they will carry out include handling the patient referral protocol and managing health documentation files under different criteria.
The Vega de Acá health centre already has a student in this speciality and, in the next few days, will incorporate another student with the same professional profile. This practical approach is essential for young people to successfully face the challenges of the labour market and respond to the growing demand for professionals in the health field.
