Moreno has held a work meeting this morning in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), with representatives of beach businessmen in Andalusia, with whom he has analyzed some of the challenges of the sector and the immediate demands for the summer season, with special attention to the damage caused by storms on the Andalusian coast.
He recalled the importance of a sector that generates 40.000 direct jobs in the community and around 500 million euros in turnover, essential for the tourism industry in Andalusia.
Moreno made reference to the "administrative pressures" to which the businessmen of the "chiringuitos" are subjected, and said that the most immediate challenge is the regularization of the concessions, a "very slow process that has caused inequalities between provinces and legal uncertainty to businessmen”.
Given the damage that the storms have left on the Andalusian coast, he reiterated the commitment of the National Government to regenerate the beaches so that they are ready for the summer season. "There is an absolute and clear disposition on the part of the government, which will put all the necessary resources so that everything is fully available."
In this sense, he said that, faced with the commitment of the Government of Spain, he "misses" the commitment of the Junta de Andalucía. "The joint work of all the administrations is necessary," said Moreno, who claimed the responsibility of the Andalusian government in matters concerning the replacement of urban furniture, and the unblocking of administrative obstacles. "In short, put your shoulder in so that we have the beaches that we deserve," he said.
“I want a positive, decisive and resolute attitude to solve all the problems that affect the beach bars, which suffer from a situation of insecurity and need stability to generate progress and quality jobs.
CHAVES AND GRIÑÁN COLLECTIVE AMNESIA
Regarding the statement of the former presidents in the trial of the ERE, he pointed out the "collective amnesia" that those who testify in court seem to suffer, and stressed that "what nobody disputes is that there has been an illegal procedure in Andalusia that has led to a detriment of at least 800 million to the Andalusians; And we are surprised that those who have held important responsibilities in the Andalusian governments say that they were not aware of these practices”.
He said that he hopes that the trial helps to "know the whole truth", and recalled that the Board has made "abandonment of functions" by not appearing in the case "being the main victim".
Regarding the alleged contribution by the Board of a forged document, as denounced today by the Popular Party, he said that "it would be very serious", and said that this issue must be "resolved" and "clarified" as soon as possible.
