- Andalusia offers 165.859 new entry vocational training places, 7.610 more places than the previous year.
La Vocational training is today in Andalusia a key piece in the public education system. For this reason, the popular Government of Juanma Moreno has made a historic commitment to the FP, with more places and centers.
In Andalusia, FP is a key element for promoting the employability of young Andalusians. With this commitment, we respond to the real needs of the labor market and emerging and traditional sectors.
Looking ahead to the 2023/2024 academic year, the Junta de Andalucía has offered a total of 165.859 new entry places. This figure represents 7.610 more places than the previous year. In comparison with the last year of socialist management, Andalusia today has 46.770 more places, which represents an increase of 39,24%.
More student interest
The staff of vocational training teachers has also grown by almost 2.400, with the aim of responding to the interest of the students. Andalusia has also added nine new training cycles in subsidized centers compared to 2018.
Today, 81,2% of the students who have applied for a place in the Vocational Training of Andalusia has obtained a place in this 2023-24 academic year, compared to 65% in 2018. In this way, the application coverage rate has grown by 16,2 points. Demand has also increased by 6,3% for this course.
As a result of educational policies, the community has more Andalusians Graduates of Baccalaureate, FP and Secondary. The graduation rate among young people between 20 and 24 years old has risen almost nine points, to 76%, three points away from convergence with the national average.
Between 2018 and 2022, the rate of high school and vocational training graduates has increased from 67,2% to 75,9%. Among young people between 16 and 24 years old, the graduate rate is 87,5%, five points more than in 2018.
Training for the labor market
The Vocational Training offer seeks to respond to the Andalusian labor market. Training thus becomes the tool to boost the employability of Andalusians.
To this end, the degrees offered also seek to contribute to the modernization and digitalization of the productive fabric and the SME. The offer is reinforced with degrees related to emerging topics in the industry as well as those focused on sectors such as agri-food, energy or fishing.
