The vice-secretary of the Organization and Training of the Andalusian PP, Toni Martín, today asked the president of the Board, Susana Díaz, to "consider her future" after her "resounding failure" in the socialist primaries.
"Díaz's only alternative is to leave and propose someone to replace her with more enthusiasm and commitment for Andalusia," said Martín, who stressed that neither the PP nor the Andalusians "are willing to assume that Andalusia is the leftovers of the primaries of the PSOE nor the second course of Susana Díaz ”
In a press conference to assess the consequences of the socialist vote this past Sunday in the community, the popular leader has reproached the president of the Junta for having spent months dedicated to "their fight" forgetting the management and needs of the Andalusians "who are not interested in their personal ambition at all".
"Andalusia needs everything, it needs a leader who dedicates 24 hours a day, not leaders who haggle over their efforts," he added.
He insisted that Díaz "has chosen" by embarking on the race towards the socialist primaries, "where his political future has been at stake and he has lost", and that his political leadership at the head of the PSOE-A has also been questioned when "40 percent of the militants of the PSOE in Andalusia have said no to him”.
He added that "the second great loser of the socialist primaries has been Andalusia", which, he stressed, has suffered during the process "the lack of political action due to the absence of the president of the Junta while her advisers wandered around San Telmo - seat of the Presidency - without political direction”.
He has opposed the attitude of Díaz and the PSOE-A to that of the Andalusian PP and its president, Juanma Moreno, "who has chosen to dedicate himself to Andalusia." “The Andalusian PP is going to leave its skin for the community. For us it is the first and only thing, we do not put a brake on our efforts", stressed Martín, who also recalled the support obtained by Juanma Moreno in the Regional Congress that the PP held just a few weeks ago, where he received the support of more than 95% of the militants”.
Regarding the results of the primaries, he stated that "'the candidate of the No' –in reference to Sánchez- has won against 'the candidate of the Yo' –in reference to Díaz-".
“Díaz has failed; her colleagues from the PSOE, those who know her best, have rejected her and have said 'no' to her party model based on 'me, me and me', on demagoguery and on a way of managing that has made that Andalusia is only news in Spain due to unemployment, corruption, and for occupying the latest indicators in issues such as education or health investments, ”he said.
On Sánchez's victory, he stressed that the PSOE has elected a leader "whom the Spanish have rejected twice in one year." "I hope they have learned from their mistakes", said Martín, who pointed out that "the PSOE has emerged as more radical and extremist" and "has abandoned its space for moderation", which will, in his opinion, "make the PP expand its social basis”.
