• The parliamentary spokesman for the Andalusian PP, Toni Martín, reproaches that "some seem to find out about the drought now, if they had found out at the time, many of the works that are needed might already have been completed"
• Asks the PSOE for "prudence and tranquility" regarding the renewal of RTVA "because it seems that it wants to solve problems at home"
The spokesman for the Popular Group in the Andalusian Parliament, Toni Martín, insisted today that from Andalusia "we will not give up our efforts to demand that the socialist government undertake all those matters that are its responsibility, from water works to the reform of the regional financing model, because it is a right of the Andalusians, and not a favor that Pedro Sánchez does us”.
At a press conference in parliament, Martín referred to the imbalance in investments to face the impact of the drought in the autonomous community. "With a third of the powers over the basins, the Junta de Andalucía has invested more than 140 million euros in infrastructure and aid, and the Government, which has powers over more than 67% of the basins, has invested barely 9 million euros In works". “We have even had to declare some works of general interest and urgency to guarantee supply to more than 100.000 people, and the Junta de Andalucía has had to do it”, he highlighted.
Martín has lamented, in this sense, that "we are already very late, because some seem to find out now that there is a lack of water." "If they had found out at the time, many of the works that are needed might already have been completed." Even so, "it is important that these infrastructures start now for the future, because it is time to take urgent decisions and face this very serious problem in Andalusia."
The parliamentary spokesman explained that the drought, together with inflation, will focus the plenary session and a good part of the legislature. And he has stressed that the Andalusian Government has articulated a monitoring commission so that the parliamentary groups directly transfer their proposals in this area. "And they will be analyzed with all the seriousness and rigor they deserve."
Martín has also explained that both the Government and the Parliamentary Group of the PP agree on the need to reach an agreement among all the sectors involved in irrigation, highlighting "the commitment to defend and protect Doñana and other environmental spaces, but also to the thousands of families who live from agriculture and irrigated crops in Andalusia”. "We will continue working and looking for formulas to reconcile commitment and respect for the environment and for the families involved."
In terms of inflation, Martín has criticized the PSOE for demanding measures from the Government of Juanma Moreno when it forgets to claim "everything that depends on the Government of Spain, which in this matter are the majority of actions."
The spokesman has also referred to the renewal of the parliamentary extraction bodies, and after explaining that talks have already been held with the rest of the parliamentary groups, he has advised the PSOE "prudence and not to be in a hurry because there is still a year left." to address it", alluding to his statements about "a blockade, not giving carte blanche, that Canal Sur must have guarantees of transparency or changes"
"Espadas only talks about Canal Sur, because it gives the impression that it is in a certain hurry to solve a problem at home and wants to solve it using the board of directors." "These are problems of Espadas and not of Canal Sur or the Andalusians, and there is a year that has just begun, so I recommend slow, good writing, calm and good food because rushing is not good advice."
