· "From the PP, we are going to continue betting on our culture and its hallmarks as we have shown by increasing the budget by 40 million euros compared to 2018 with the latest accounts of the socialist governments"
The Deputy Secretary for Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Popular Party of Andalusia, Pilar Pintor, has criticized the abstention of the PSOE and the rest of the opposition groups in the vote on the Flamenco Law, the first national regulation on the matter and that was approved this Wednesday in Parliament, it demonstrates their lack of commitment to Andalusia, which translates into the "best example of their carelessness with our culture."
As he explained, the new law has had the participation of artists, foundations, associations, clubs, publishers or chairs of flamencology, in such a way that the entire sector has been involved in a regulation that seeks to promote Flamenco as a singular element of the Andalusian culture, stimulate the creation of associations and the integration of flamenco teachings in the different educational stages.
For Pintor, "once again the PSOE shows its contempt for Andalusia by abstaining from voting on the Flamenco Law", being a pioneering law in Spain and "one more example of the line of dialogue and consensus of the Popular Party in the defense of the interests of Andalusia”.
"The PSOE and the rest of the opposition turn their backs on our land and on the interests of all Andalusians", underlined the deputy secretary, stressing that from the Popular Party of Andalusia "we are going to continue betting on our culture and its hallmarks as we have shown.
In this regard, Pilar Pintor recalled that the Government of Juanma Moreno has increased the budget for this matter by 40 million euros compared to that of 2018, the last budget of the socialist governments, as well as has launched aid to the sector when they were having the worst time during the pandemic and promoting policies for artistic creation and for our flamenco festivals.
