Antonio Repullo field solutions

The general secretary of the PP of Andalusia, Antonio Repullo, reiterated this Thursday from Granada the support of their training to Andalusian farmers and ranchers, “as we have always been doing” -he points out-, because “they are a strategic sector key".

“We have always been at their side, in the fight to improve their conditions,” he noted, arguing that the extreme situation that the countryside is experiencing “This is not an ideological problem, this is a social problem.”. As he explained, thousands of Andalusian families depend on the countryside and only seek to improve their lives and guarantee their jobs, and that "with their activity they keep our towns alive and protect the rural environment."

The field is at its limit

Antonio Repullo has indicated that although until now they have endured this complicated situation as best they could, now "They can't take it anymore, they are desperate and at the limit." And he regrets that, meanwhile, "from their palace, the Moncloa, they are incapable of giving them solutions, because at the time they did not diagnose this situation." “Neither Sánchez nor Minister Planas have wanted to be on the side of the farmers,” he says.

From his point of view, the problems that are suffocating the field could be solved "by listening to professionals in the sector, understanding their needs and looking after their interests in Europe." However, he believes that “pride does not allow Planas or Sánchez to listen and recognize the great error of their government policies on agriculture and how far they are from the interests of farmers.” “They are incapable of listening to reason,” she stressed.

The general secretary of the PP of Andalusia understands the extreme situation in which farmers and ranchers find themselves, and the thousands of families who live from agricultural activity, because the losses are in the millions. As an example, in the province of Granada alone they have lost more than 400 million euros in the last year.”

Look for solutions

At the origin of these losses is, as the agricultural organizations have been denouncing, a CAP loaded with bureaucracy and requirements that are increasingly difficult to meet, a food chain law that is not being complied with, profit margins that are increasingly detrimental to them, unfair competition from other countries and the absence of mirror clauses that reduce this damage.”

Added to all of this is the lack of generational change and especially the drought, which is increasingly longer and more pronounced, "in response to which the Sánchez Government has not taken the necessary measures in due time either." It should be remembered that the government of Sánchez announced in December that the work on the first breakdown of the Rules pipelines They would start in January, but “we are already halfway through February and we still have no news.”

Given this situation, Antonio Repullo has stated that "from the PP of Andalusia we have always worked in defense of the rural world, agriculture and livestock”. "From the government and also from the opposition,” he clarifies.

In line with the above, Repullo has valued that “since Juanma Moreno has been president of the Junta de Andalucía, we have not stopped implementing measures who support and protect these families, so that the Andalusian countryside advances.”

After reaffirming the firm commitment of the Popular Party of Andalusia to "listen, understand their needs and adopt measures that help them." On this point, he has defended the work carried out by the PP in Brussels "hand in hand with farmers to minimize the disastrous consequences of an unfair CAP negotiated by Planas.”

Generational relief in the countryside

Likewise, he has valued that the Andalusian Government of Juanma Moreno has mobilized 344 million euros in agri-environmental aid, “and now It will add 125 million euros, aid that has proven to be crucial at this time for the field.” In this way, the Board increases this line of aid by 22%, thus meeting a demand from the sector. Likewise, he highlighted the incentives that have allowed 4.000 young people to join the Andalusian countryside. “And in these Budgets we continue to bet for them andyouthizing the Andalusian countryside by incorporating another 1.800 young people, which guarantees the future of Andalusia and its rural environment.”

Given this, Repullo regrets that the PSOE in Andalusia “the only thing it does is defend to a Pedro Sánchez to whom the ministers who society asks to resign are accumulating”. “We saw it last week with Marlaska”, he remembers, and this week with Luis Planas. “It is a social outcry resulting from ministers who do not defend the interests of Andalusia or the Spanish.”

The general secretary of the PP of Andalusia has highlighted that Andalusian farmers and ranchers feed more than 500 million Europeans. Their efforts have cost them to be the first agri-food power in Spain and the second in Europe. “We are not going to let Pedro Sánchez throw away that work,” he concluded. “They will always have the PP of Andalusia, we will always defend their interests and we will be showing our faces.”

In defense of Granada

For his part, the president of the Popular Party of Granada, Francis Rodríguez, has signed the support of the Granada party for the requests that farmers are making in the province and has influenced the “manifest incapacity” of the Sánchez Government and, specifically, from Minister Planas to address a critical situation that is putting the present and future of many workers at stake.

“The future of a crucial sector for our economy is at stake. The Granada countryside can't take it anymore,” said Rodríguez, who has also stressed the importance of investing in water policies. “Without water there is no field and without fields we lose our food sovereignty. The Government of Spain has a lot to learn from the Government of Juanma Moreno that with the fourth Drought Decree continues to respond to the needs that are arising as a result of the drought that affects us", which is why it has urged that the Executive begin the works for the Rules pipelines once and for all and activate the rest of the breakdowns still pending. To this, he has added the need to reduce bureaucracy as our farmers are asking for and as in other areas such as Andalusia, administrative simplification is being streamlined and implemented.
