  • “How can María Jesús Montero talk about opportunities after spending a year defending the Catalan quota? How can María Jesús Montero talk about the future of Andalusia if Pedro Sánchez's government has been torpedoing our growth for years, refusing to invest in infrastructure?”
  • “The Andalusia you speak of no longer exists. This Andalusia is standing, it is strong, it is sure of itself and it is growing.”
Antonio Repullo anniversary of ERE

The secretary general of the PP of Andalusia, Antonio Repullo, recalled this Monday that “On January 19, 2011, Judge Mercedes Alaya opened preliminary proceedings for a corruption case. A fraud amounting to 680 million euros and which already has a total of 136 pieces.” “A proven, judged and severely punished crime, which had a major protagonist: the PSOE of Andalusia", he stressed, pointing out that "it was the public officials of that party who spent public money, that is, money from all Andalusians, to pay favours, to buy support, and to an endless number of immoral and inappropriate dealings in a democracy like ours."

On January 19, 2024, María Jesús Montero She appeared before the media after being elected, "due to the non-appearance of her rival" - she points out - as general secretary of the PSOE of Andalusia. On his enthronement he defended that corrupt PSOE, has downplayed everything his party colleagues did, and has applauded the actions of all those who, instead of respecting the Andalusians, betrayed them by using their taxes to perpetuate themselves in power.

"I don't believe in coincidences. This is a date to remember”, Repullo pointed out. “because The deceitful and condescending PSOE, in which citizens stopped trusting six years ago, is back. The PSOE of lies, personal attacks and empty words is back. The PSOE returns without ideas and without a project." And he added: "The PSOE that did so much damage to our land is back.. That left so much poverty while others filled their pockets. The PSOE in black and white is back. The PSOE of pity, of crumbs. The PSOE of sitting on its hands. A PSOE without ambition and without a future.

For Antonio Repullo "It is now official: Montero is in opposition to Andalusia from the Moncloa. Pedro Sánchez's number 2, the vice president of the Government, who will continue to be so, is in charge of Andalusia.”

The PSOE invents an Andalusia that does not exist: today Andalusia works

In his opinion, Pedro Sánchez is sending María Jesús Montero to Andalusia to scare people. Without any proposals, just to try to scare the citizens. “No matter how much they repeat that the ship is sinking, the ship is not sinking. And they know it. That is why the PSOE is trying to deceive people,” he clarified, while predicting that “that is why His childish triumphalism is going to come up against reality and an Andalusia that no longer swallows these lies."That time has passed. That strategy has already expired," he stressed.

Andalusia grows. Andalusia competes. It creates jobs, it is a leader in the launch of new companies. It exports more than ever. Never before have so many resources been dedicated to public services for Andalusians. And we are leaders in the production of renewable energy. “What story is the PSOE selling?” Repullo asked. “Why don’t they build from data, from the truth, instead of inventing an Andalusia that does not correspond to reality? The PSOE is nostalgic for the Andalusia they left behind. An Andalusia in tow, without opportunities, plagued by unemployment and corruption., depopulation and closed in on itself.”

Maria Jesus Montero and her past

The secretary general of the PP of Andalusia has also questioned the alleged defense of women proclaimed by Montero. "She, precisely, who It is part of the Sánchez Government that reduced the sentence of 1.200 rapists and sexual aggressors, and released another 121 from prison with that terrible law that was the Yes is Yes law.. Is this how they are going to defend women in Andalusia? With laws that benefit criminals?”, he warned, adding that “it is very easy to give lessons, but it is not so easy to work for rights. We do so in the Popular Party. We work for people’s rights. With moderation, honesty and precision. We work for equality, for diversity and for the guarantee of rights with much more passion and efficiency than a PSOE that embraces populism and whose policies have the opposite effects to those proposed.”

She has also spoken out on the subject of housing. “María Jesús Montero says that the Spanish government is working for housing for Andalusians. But it is not true. They promise more than anyone else, but they build less than the Junta de Andalucía and the town councils.” Since Pedro Sánchez became president of the Government, the price of housing has increased by 24%. “These are figures, not words. Definitive figures.”

In his opinion, this growth has an explanation: the instability of a government without support and a national housing law made by Bildu, Podemos and ERC, which only had two objectives: to defend squatters and to persecute the owners. According to Repullo, "the aim is to intervene in the market in a botched manner and, in the process, invade the powers of the autonomous communities. Even the Constitutional Court declared unconstitutional a part of this law that has been useless for everyone."

Defending the independence quota is taking away opportunities from Andalusia

In the area of financing, Antonio Repullo has also raised "cHow is Maria Jesus Montero going to talk about opportunities after spending a year defending the Catalan quota? How is Maria Jesus Montero going to talk about the future of Andalusia if Pedro Sanchez's government has been torpedoing our growth for years? refusing to invest in infrastructure and avoiding talking about a new tax model that would be more beneficial for our land.”

A government that has fired the president of Telefónica to replace a man close to the Catalan Socialist Party, he stressed: “What is behind all this? What is the PSOE going to sell to Andalusia now when it has abandoned not only the citizens, but also its own members?”

With all this, the secretary general of the Andalusian Popular Party has doubted that “now they remember Andalusia. Do you know why? Because they need their votes so that Sánchez can hold out for a quarter of an hour longer in Moncloa. There is no more.” And he has again insisted that “the PSOE needs Andalusia, but Andalusia does not need this PSOE. And even less this grumpy, old and resentful PSOE. This revanchist PSOE that continues to believe that the Junta is theirs and that those who have solidly supported Juanma Moreno are, in truth, wrong.”

From his point of view, this is an arrogant and angry PSOE. A hyperventilated PSOE that doesn't care about the day-to-day life of the Andalusians. That doesn't care about companies, workers, their rights, health care, classrooms. "They only care about themselves. About the executive, about the lists. In short, about power," he pointed out.

“Now María Jesús Montero says that she is going to meet with the Andalusians,” he continues. “Now she is in a hurry after years of neglect, of applause in the Congress of Deputies, after years of laughing at Pedro Sánchez, the worst president of our democracy, the one who has done the least for Andalusia.”

Repullo says that the Andalusia that Montero tries to portray no longer exists. “She talks about subsidies, aid, support…she talks about Andalusians as if they were waiting for her to arrive so they could give her a budget handout. Andalusia is no longer there. That Andalusia has already passed. That Andalusia no longer exists.”

The secretary general of the PP in Andalusia argues that “Andalusians have been flying solo for many years now. They invest, they grow, they train, they are world references in culture, in research, in industry.” “This Andalusia is growing. And it does so from humility, from daily effort, from their homes, their jobs, their schools and public hospitals.”

"This Andalusia is standing, Mrs. Montero”, he snapped. She is strong and self-assured. And she is not afraid. Andalusia is not afraid. “So do not try to intimidate it, or inhibit it, or paint a dark future for it. Because the worst thing that can happen to this land is precisely you, Mrs. Montero. You and what you represent. The worst PSOE. The one of the shady dealings. The one of the cheating. The one of the benefit to friends. The PSOE of inaction, of apathy and of lack of ambition. The cowardly PSOE that tried to lull our land to sleep.” In conclusion, Antonio Repullo has highlighted that “Andalusia trusts the Popular Party. Andalusia trusts Juanma Moreno and his government. Andalusia knows that there is no need to go backwards, not even to gain momentum."It is the complete opposite of that PSOE that smells of mothballs and closed rooms.
